Sassy pink room

I painted my room today (yay!) a Sassy pink color.
The pictures doesn't show the real color at all!
Ohwell, maybe next time.
I'm getting a DSLR, real soon maybe by this month.

Though when she reach, my maid & I are already half done with the room haha.
My room is pretty small with only 3 walls to paint.
We finished painting (plus it dried) at 12.30, it's like soooo fast.

Our hands itchy, we sprayed (or tried to) the window grills RED.
Epic fail.
Luckily YY called and came over with a thinner(?), so it's manpower and raw material +1.
We had a hard time cleaning off the red paint.
But ohwell, everything can't go smoothly all the time right.

Essensuals Salon can be found at Bugis street, in front of Burger King, level 2.

I went out with Moo, my long awaited date with this busy girl.
Our plans were actually thwarted.
Sorry girl, you woke up so early for nothing.
& Sorry yy, I know you wanted so much to YCQ us for not following the original plan.
Time is running out!

Choosing my hair color is the hardest part.
I'm so fickle minded that I can't decide on either Ash brown or Red.

I gave up after wrecking my mind over the color, so I asked the hairstylist Celine to choose one for me.

Celine chose a color for me, but refuse to tell me what color is it!
It makes me anticipate even more.

I keep asking "is it very loud and bright? I want bright color but not too scary. Omg what color is it?!"

Time flew while waiting for my hair to absorb the dye.

M almost fall asleep, I think.
She may seem to be reading the magazine but I think her mind is somewhere else!

The greater the anticipation, The greater the disappointment.
I can't help but feel sad when Celine blow dry my hair.
I was hoping for a brighter color!

I keep thinking to myself "nono, it's because my hair is wet, it will be better"

Ended up, it's not as bright as the color Celine chose for me.
The reason is because my hair has TOO MUCH color before and it's soooo dry!

Stupid stupid hair can't absorb the dye :((

Still, it is better now I think.
My hair color is more uniform at least!
The hair color I had before was really chaos.

Anyway, Celine promised me another dye-hair session. (around next week?)
I need to bleach my hair and dye it again, in order to get the color I wanted.

I guess I'll have like really really dry hair after all the chemicals I add to my hair.

I'm damn envy of moo's hair.
It's soooo soft like baby hair!

We went shopping around the area after that.
In search of a Maxi dress for the upcoming photoshoot.

Pixar exhibition @ ssc

Went for the Pixar exhibition last week together with fellow DVFX students.
It was awesome enough to impress me.

Lessons were canceled and we got free tickets to the Pixar Exhibit and 3-D movie.
Thank you NP for providing us with this intriguing experience at the SSC.
:)

But I gotta say it's really impressive, looking at all the artist's hardwork and how they organize their flow of thoughts for character and story boarding etc.

Busy. Busy. Busy.
I've been busy all week.
& I haven't even get to meet my friend John M!!
(We were suppose to meet 3 weeks before)

Shall start writing up the wedding dinner post first.
It's waaayyy back last week!

My cousin (whom actually aren't close with me personally) got married!

The usual Chinese wedding dinner you know.
Yam seng! Toast to the new wedded couple, sit and eat, aunties and uncle saying hi...
Even bringing up the usual "how's your school" topic, etc.
You get what I mean :)

It's funny how I have a cousin called Lin Hui Yan.
It's like a combination of me & my sis's name in order.
Si Lin, Si Hui, and Si Yan respectively.

And my dad was telling this joke to my relatives;

Dad: In our house we have one more daughter, called Si Wo. Every time outside the toilet I ask "Who is inside?" they will always reply "Si Wo" (it's me) as if I knew who "Si Wo" means! They all sound the same nowadays...

That's the most true thing my parents said!
I realize that whenever there's a family occasion, my parents would turn...
Almost kind to us suddenly by complimenting us in front of my relatives.

For example.

At home scenario-

Mom: tsk, I don't know whether you go school to study or fashion show? Why wear until so nice? A normal t-shirt and jeans will do! And you're still a young girl, don't put any make up or you will get old very fast.

In front of relatives scenario-

Mom: My daughter is talented. She can re-create a hairstyle or makeup just by watching the Youtube videos. Kids nowadays huh, learn so fast! Not like us last time so ku ku. *laugh* Yeah, she's really good in the area of fashion.

I'm like. Wow.
That is totally a split personality change.

First of, thanks Joel for loaning me his Macbook charger.
I'm so touched.
It's been so long since someone sacrificed for me, hahaha.

School was pretty much it.
I'm officially from the GHK (go home kids) club.
Everyone I know is being stressed up about CTs.
I guess that's the good part of being in DVFX, no exams.

The lesson we had yesterday (camera fx) was effing epic.
Our lecturer brought out the movable large green screen.
Had tons of joke/fun while setting the stuff up.

Haha, I even video-ed down melvin's stunt and all!
Shall post it up soon.

Hafta wake up early tomorrow.

Omg, laptop charger blew

All of a sudden my photobucket pictures seems to work!
No more bandwidth exceeded error, yippeee~

On the side note, my laptop charger blew today!
I was using it in school when all of a sudden I smell a burnt smell.
Then I tug my charger wire and it start to have sparks follow by smokes.
Scared the hell out of me when my laptop suddenly switch off.
I thought the sky came crashing down on me.
Because without my laptop, how can I surviveeeeee through the days man.

Luckily it's just my charger!
Gonna get a new one asap.

I'm using the remainer of my laptop battery to blog this out man.

late nights, eye bags

Always sleeping around 3am nowadays. (disastrous eye bags)
It's becoming a habit of mine!

I've been fussing over re-vamping my room.
Did some research on the net for room designs and comparing prices.
Every night before I sleep I'll think and imagine how my desired room would look like.
It makes me happy whenever I picture that lovely organized room.

But it takes a lot of work though.
I've decided to wallpaper my walls instead of painting it.
Plus I needa throw out tables, make my room more spacious.
Fully utilize the cabinets, buy lots of containers to organize my stuff.
Have a new white lacey curtain over the windows.
Mount decks of wood on the wall & place a speaker there, etc books
& then decorate the shelves with "Christmas lights" (The long strand of light)
Have a gorgeous full length mirror on one wall.
Paste glow-in-the-dark stickers all over the ceiling.
Have a big fury carpet on the floor (may be a lil bit impracticle)
Decorate one corner of my room with colorful pebbles.
Buy a "egg-shape" comfy chair.
Search for vintage loots to decorate my room;
Get a new fancy clock
Get a better-looking dustbin
Nail hooks on the wall behind the door so I can hook my clothes/belts/bag
Change my bed sheet design
Buy some cheap cute looking pillows from Ikea

Yeah! totally re-vamping my room.
It would be my JUNE HOLIDAY PROJECT.

Clark Quay(key)

Today I met up with some sec sch mates, those are like my besties during sec sch.
Also, the guys are my classmates throughout the 4 years!
I cannot deny that we've drifted apart, but we still make attempt for meet ups.

Today is like one of the few rare moments I can get together with them.
& I'm late. So terribly late.
Despite cabbing down to Clark Quay I'm still late by hours and I missed dinner with them :<
I'm so sorry guys.

I'm glad that we're all free, no one is rushing to somewhere else this time.
(well except for Anna but she stayed for a while so... xD)
We hung around the area.

Snapped a few pictures until my cam's battery died.
Damn.

Kevin (CHY) is one of my 4-years classmate.

We still see each other because we study the same course/same school but different classes.
I will always remember that day when I ask him to send me home.
It's the one that leave the deepest impression among me and my friends, haha.
It kind of became our inside joke too.

And of course, with both of my GIRLS.
One, is my Z-cup mother and the other is my Sistarr <3

ECP cycling

Yesterday was an impromptu decision to go ECP for cycling which turn out to be great!

I was googling "what to do when you are bored" in the afternoon after J called.
Then I found a website with a list of 42 things to do in Singapore.
Yeah, right, 42 only.

Apparently one of the hot spot in Singapore is East Coast Park (ECP).
Immediately text J to go cycling together, so nice he stay around the area too!

So I took the bloody long ride to Tanah Merah and went to his house.
Did some script writing work and he taught me some guitar songs.
I find piano easier somehow. I just can't hold on correctly to the chord/strings.

Then, off we go to cycling!

I'm so proud of myself.
I snapped a few awesome pictures WHILE riding the bike.
J tried to do the same but he fail seriously keep taking weird off-center shots.
Haha, but he claim to be a awesome photographer just because he caught one pic correctly.

Yeah, I took the advantage of my lousy cycling skills to take this kinda 'effect' pics.
I have no idea that I cycle zig zag until J told me.
I keep complaining why he cycle so near to me suddenly (like an attempt to scare me?)
Until he pointed out it's because of my zig-zag cycle pattern!

So anyway, in case anybody is curious/interested in how to do this kinda shots.
Just switch your cam to NIGHT MODE set with soft-flash and take the pic with your shaky hands.
Oh, the surrounding area must have light too. (for eg. lamp post)

TVC SHOOT

We filmed our TVC (television commercial) today.
One of our school project.
We have really wonderful and patient cast!
Dex, Mannan & Fujisaki Hang U.

It didn't went out that smoothly, prolly due to the lack of rehearsing and planning.
It's also our FIRST time filming in a green screen studio.

But still, I think everything went well!
Can't wait to do post-production, when we make movie magic.
Haha.

I had my black hair extensions on today.
Splendid mixed hair color :>

Also, I met up with Joel Conceicao for movie.
Both our lessons got canceled!
We caught "The Losers", which is...not very nice i.m.o
Nice effects and great shots but the story plot just ain't working out.
The jokes are also too cliche, almost expected and not funny.
The scenes are too choppy too, almost a bit fast-moving.

I think ever since we got into FMS, we start to have a different level of movie experience.
We're noticing all the flaws and appreciating the beauty of movie making.
Don't know whether it's a good thing or not?

Maybe sometime it's best to be ignorant.
Then probably I wouldn't give The Losers such a bad rating.

The Praise Culture

A simple praise or compliment can make someone's day.
Don't hesitate to say "Thank you, you're so nice" to someone.

Words are easy, it won't cost you anything.
You may never know if someone had a bad day at work,
a simple compliment from you can lift their spirits up.

Y'know Singaporeans are not fond of complimenting each other.
I wonder why?
In western culture they throw in "awesome", "fab", "great" into every sentence.
Here, it's like it hurts to even say "good morning" to a bus uncle.

Just recently, I read a message from a friend I met during work.

He travels a lot for business & there's once when he met Anne hathaway (one of my fav movie star) and other celebrities in the hotel he's booked in.

& I tweeted about how lucky he is to meet them...
He replied;

Though I know I'm far cry ugly if compared with Anne hathaway,
but it's still feel nice to receive a compliment!

So thanks a lot Nick!

Morale of the post:
Don't hesitate to make someone's day!
Say "Good morning" to the bus uncle who drive you to work/school everyday.
Say "Thankyou" to the auntie who serve you lunch.
& Say "I love you" to your parents while wishing them "Goodnight".

After much procrastination I decided to post up some pics from the hair show.

Sunday 9th may

A group of my friends modeled for a tony&guy hair show.
It's mainly for Bryan's new-open hair salon at bugis, called Essensuals.
Most of the hair stylist there are experienced and once under T&G.
The hair show is basically a show case of their masterpiece (US!)

For that 10min of catwalk, we spend hours preparing.
This is my ultra-boomz hair!

I swear I could have stolen all the limelight!
Just because my big hair will block all the other model's face, haha.

During the show we treat our selves champagne and beer.
& I'm so worried I'm turning into an alcoholic.
Because I actually do enjoy alcohol nowadays.

Drank a can before the catwalk starts.
It calms me down when I'm nervous and makes me more...me

After much preparation, we walked to the venue.
WALKED! yeah, no grand limousine to pick us up like superstars of the night.
Many heads turn as we walk.
Prolly because we look like some mafia gang haha.

It was a great night after all!

Today I went to find Boonchew at his workplace (cine/furmuse)

I felt like some sua gu foreigner because I don't even know the way to cine.
That's right, I'm that bad at road directions.
& I alighted at Orchard instead of Sommerset!
Called YY only to realize I've been going the wrong direction.

So I have this fear that I'll get lost again, I stalked a potential-go-to-cine guy.
While I'm stalking that dude, a girl from modeling agency is stalking me too.
So in the end it is the girl who brought me to cine, indirectly.

Wanted to have lunch with Chew but we ended up talking.
Customer thought I'm one of the sales assistant there, haha.

& we realize we have the same aspiration - to be air steward/stewardess!
What more, we plan to go BKK during my August holiday (tgt with D).
It's gonna be an exciting shopping/business trip.

Skipped lunch, went to meet YY at Cityhall.
We went to collect our pay at effing Eunos.
The place is so ulu, we walk in circles just to find the place!

So sweaty and tired.
but it's worth it when I got the pay (double as expected).

didn't really have the time for blogging :(
I took up a new job at suntec as a server for a ramen store.

Last Fri I get to catch iron man 2 with John.
It was freakin awesome! Maybe a bit bias because he's my favorite superhero.
Also we hung out at many different places, looking for m's present.

In the end i bought macaroons for her as part of her present!
(I gave her a CD with vid I made, River island wallet and macaroons)

Then J came my hse and we played monopoly cards.
Had trouble figuring out the game at first, but it was fun!

Next up Sat and Sun, I've been working at the Ramen store.

Hokay, so I realize I woke up too early today- 6.30am
Finish my breakfast, even have time to curl my hair for fun and I'm still left with so much time!

With nothing urgent to do, I finally took out some shirts (they're rotting inside my cupboard) to practice some cutting.

I just cut an old camp shirt for 1 min *snip snip* (my practice) then proceed to the actual shirt.

& here it is!

There's some rough edges here and there, but i think it works lah.
Not bad for someone who didn't take any fashion designer course right.

So I guess I've wasted enough time.

Road trip

Yesterday was a road trip with M, Nov, John & Jerlin.
Wanted to ask YY along too but the car couldn't contain all of us.
Sorry YY!!!
Thanks J for driving us around and letting us in your house, it was awesome.
We went Changi, Tampines, Punggol & Marina.

Our first stop was to Salvation army thrift store, we kinda pass by there actually.
Both John and Jerlin bought something!

Throughout the whole road trip, Eric cartmen was our favorite toy.
Maisie keep on playing with Eric and treating it like her new best friend.
I really suspect if she'll take him home with her!

J introduce us to the Nasi Lemak stall at changi, we also had some Satay for lunch.
It's not bad, but still I think the one at Boonlay market taste better!

Halfway during our lunch, it start to rain cats and dogs.
No choice our road trip plan change to chillin at John's house.
I adore his room it's so cooooolll with all the posters and figurine boxes hanging by the wall.
The entire room set up was so cozy and nice!

Played PS3 with M and I laughed like crazy while fighting with her tintin character.
I also teach Jerlin how to play a classical piano piece, he's sucha quick learner!
Then he showed me how to play titanic, which I totally didn't catch a thing at all
haha.

After the rain stop, we went to ...Korea aka Malaysia!
Hahaha.
It's a really nice place to chillax, windy and cooling with few ppl around.

& that's when M start to show herself (as in going crazy and noisy)

Nov on the other hand looks tired and he keep on smoking that day!

Went to Tony & guy hair academy today.
Volunteered as a hair model (why not?) and got new hair color!

Celine, the hair stylist there dyed and highlighted my hair.
Dark brown (or black?) as the base and dark red as the highlight.
The red highlight is not that obvious though, it only adds like texture to my hair.
So my hair look kinda dark but with a tinge of red in it?

Now I have darker but healthier looking hair, wooosh!

Going back again next week for a trim.

Been busy and tired this few days.

Went for mikey's birthday chalet and then straight for work the next day.

Tired but I didn't regret it cause if I hadn't stayed, I won't be able to experience drunk mikey.

Went to facial with moo today.
One good thing about moo - she will definitely bring her camera out, so that means pictures for my blog!

She's damn funny, keep screaming while the beautician tries to take out the blackhead/pimple.

Then, she accompanied me to Jurong Medical Clinic for my appointment.

Finally the four days of misery ended!
It's really tiring working in an It fair.

First, there is hardly any break for us.

Second, we have to stand throughout the long lingering hours and kohyiyong keep stealing the chair from us.

Third, it's a mind grueling torture to sell speakers because you'll die with blasting noises by your ear for 10 hour.

Hi, sorry about the lack of updates of my rather repetitive life ;/
There's not much to show and tell because I don't have any camera with me now!
Even my phone camera gave up on me.

I just learn a very lame joke from nov today.
" Why did the trees get struck by lightning?"
Ans: "Because during a stormy weather, the trees very sway (suay)"

I gave him a very omg-what-the-hell look when he revealed the answer.

Because before that I thought for very long and gave him a very scientific answer,
"Lightning is full of electricity and when it strikes, it look for a path of least resistance/taller object so it can hit the ground and transfer the energy quickly."

Physic.

So anyway, I went for IT training today at Eunos.
I guess I have to put in a little more effort in researching at home because I'm so unfamiliar with electronic stuff. Especially when it comes to speakers, I'm clueless.

But after today, I am totally convinced that a good quality speaker is essential!

I use to think that it's a splurge because I could play my favorite songs on a laptop and it would still sound the same on a higher-end speaker just because I listen for the tune, not the quality.

But seriously, the right speaker create the right vibe of the song.
I'm amazed at the difference between a normal speaker with those better quality ones.
The whole vibe of the music just rocks zillion times more.
You can feel and hear the beat, 'thump-thump-thump'.

The speaker that I'm selling (Altech brand) is super worth it.
I can't believe the original price is slashed up to 20%, with lots of goodies trashed in.

Shit, I think I sound so cheap now trying to promote my speakers.

After the IT training, nov and I went to Sentosa chalet together with a bunch of SP ppl.
(YY, Prem, Amir, Zi Wei, Jeff, etc...)

We went to the beach and stayed under the scorching hot sun.
Not very pleasant and wise.
However, the most epic and fun part was when we all bury YY under the sand and then run to hide behind the bicycle shacks.

It's super funny to see his blurred reaction when everyone is gone suddenly.
We should have filmed it down, damn.

The rest of the day spent in the chalet room was dedicated to poker cards - what else?

After wards, we spend our time chilling at the bbq pit.
Mostly talking about love relationship and our feelings towards it.
I feel so guilty when it comes to this because I have the only/last/shortest relationship.
Which btw, ended in 3 months.

I feel stumped at words whenever the guys ask me about a girl's perspective when it comes to different scenarios of a complicated relationship.
They're really interested in to how girls think.
Unfortunately I didn't provide much perspective because I'm rather inexperience in handling a relationship?

Love is harder than math.
It's similar to a 5 marks problem solving question.
Tricky and difficult.
Many different ways to solve.
One careless mistake in the formula and you'll never get the answer right.

That's what I think love relationship is.
Maybe I'm too much of a pessimist?

During the afternoon, moo came over and we watch 'Drag me to hell' together.

We all look extremely bored while waiting for the others to arrive.
Then, we feast on steamboat and hotplate!
Until everyone came, we played blackjack-forfeit games.

We started with really minor forfeit games.
Like for eg, hitting or slapping the hands/arm.
Later, we decided to take the game to a whole new level.
The banker (whom unfortunately is kyy) have to forfeit his face to us!

His forfeit is to let us do a 'make-over' for his face, and have a picture taken.
That picture shall be his fb profile pic for 3 days :D

I haven't receive any pictures from the class chalet.
But it felt pretty much the same when we hung out overnight together.
Just that this time round there's alcohol and more people.

I'm in half awake-half asleep mode right now.
I've had my fair share of sleep during the chalet and the 1hr returning trip home.
Not really sober and energetic though.
Felt like a living corpse.

Nothing wise will come out of my head right now.
Not in the mood of blogging...

I spent my day hanging at 8th uncle's house with some other relatives.
7th aunt came back from Australia to visit. (:

It was a lot of fun swimming with my sis and cousin.

Holidays are boring for me :(

Universal Studio Preview

As I've mentioned earlier, I had a fun trip with my friends @ the Universal Studio!
Around 18 of us went for the preview.
The place is so fascinating and...disney

It's absolutely breathe-taking, you'll have to see for it yourself there.
The mood of the place isn't captured in the photos ;(

Anyway, because such a large group of us went for the preview...
We got separated at the later part, so that explains why the pictures I post are all around the same people!

There's no doubt that this year CNY lacks the mood.
So far I've only visited one of my friend's apartment.
Where are the rest! :(

At least I have something to look forward to -
Steamboat, steamboat AND steamboat.

I think it'll soon be my turn to invite friends over to my place.
We'll have steamboat/hotplate (again)
& then g.a.m.b.l.e
CNY is all about poker cards, mahjong, introducing weird games.

But one problem I'm having is...
If I were to invite my close friends, there might be an awkward clash.

Polyclinic

So today I went to the polyclinic with my mom & maid.
Both my maid and I are the patient actually.

I wasn't sick but I need to rectify the problem I have on my leg.
The bone on my left leg near my toe hurts occasionally nowadays.
Not sure why, but my toe seem to grow towards the left?

Anyway, the experience with polyclinic doctor make me feel that they are not professional at all.

The doctor just poked my leg with her hands and ask "pain?"
(sounds wrong)
I'm like "huh? uh no.."
& that's about it.
Then she ask me more questions like if I have any drug allergies so she can fill up the form in the database.
& Kaching* pay them.

I can do that too but why aren't I the doctor!

Mom said it's because they're general doctors and they can only refer us to a specialist.

Well, that's exactly the point I'm looking at.

IF, these 'general doctors' are not qualified enough to be a specialist, then aren't their job kind of redundant?
The whole examine your body redundant?
The whole waiting time just to be referred to another doctor redundant?

What i'm saying is,

Instead of letting the public wait in the sitting area (for god knows how long) for all these general doctors,
why not immediately refer those patient who have problems that need a specialist?

You know when you learn basic science in primary school, you learn about over-crowding seeds?
When seeds are dispersed too close together,
They will fight for sunlight, water, everything.
They will become unhealthy plants.

I think it applies to relationship be it friends or lovers.

Not that you must be far away from everybody like an anti-social.
Stay close, but not too close all the time.

It's better for healthy relationships.

I know a lot of girls who dislike guys being too 'sticky' or being too unconcern.

& also best friends who hang out too much everyday that they gradually quarrel (maybe because one dislike the other character) and things go bad.

Anyway, I'm not saying this to anyone in particular.
It just pop up in my mind today.

So today I went to catch the movie Valentines day after winning 3bucks from gambling and I almost fell asleep. Maybe I'm too tired. Woke up at 8 30am in the morning and rush to school for second round of filming. Oh and today I finally replaced my ezlink card. Hurray. Tomorrow I'm gonna find a job. Finding a suitable job is tough. I don't fancy a slacker job nor a tough one. I want a job that is hella fun, and hella good pay with flexible working time. Yes. Such a job doesn't exist unless I'ma boss. I recall the only job I enjoyed most is being a market researcher. In a crude way, surveyer. Those that irritate people on street, goes around asking people survey questions and get paid. sigh.
